They could have let him resign - sacking seems a bit harsh as he stepped into a bucket of s_h_i_t_e!
His signings have been awful though.
So sack them.
They still won a Trophy - Redknob ain't and he ain't been sacked. I just think they should have shown the guy a bit more respect.
True but as they mentioned numerous times on the radio phone in this morning, a top 4 finish is priority over a domestic trophy these days. |

Football is crazy. As a manager, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Nobody is ever satisfied. There can be only one winner and on this occasion it isnt Dalgliesh or Liverpool.
Disagree, I think Liverpool FC will come out of this a stronger club. |

I bet suarez has started his campaign for Ron Aitkinson to be the next boss.
Whose Ron Aitkinson? |

Posted - 17/05/2012 : 10:21:34 He handled the Suarez affair very badly and one of his post match interviews I watched was a complete cringe fest. It's not just about Football in those jobs now. Liverpool is a global brand. Being arrogant and confrontational with the media will not these days be covered up and forgotton about.
Carroll will come good I'm sure but I would still have gone with Crouch for the Euros. Strikers seem particularly prone to critiscism in the modern game. Look at the stick Torres had last season.
To stray slightly off topic I'm already having reservations about Hodgeson. Seems to be getting his excuses in early. Already on the back foot. I paraphrase but his rationale is 'strong midfield with the option of playing one or more as a striker' Why not just get a dedicated striker? All sounds a bit defensive, bit negative a bit this-could-be-goaless with 20 mins to go. Also everything he said to justify the choice of Carroll applies to Crouch. Tall, holds the ball up, scores goals, assists when he can. Just my impression. All will be revealed. |
