I'm not a big Carroll fan but he played far better than Shrek throughout.
Defoe! His little legs won't carry him - being offside is his hobby!
Yeah he looked colleen had asked him to do his chores. In the words of Greavsy: funny old game, football. |

Posted - 25/06/2012 : 13:20:32 The Milner thing...Why not put Johnson there, he spends most of his time up the field, and can get back quicker. He seems able to beat his man and get in decent crosses, also seems to have a better 'brain' than Walcott. Get Micah Richards back in FFS. |

Posted - 25/06/2012 : 13:12:44 There is a deep rooted problem within our game and it needs sorting out.
The inability to keep hold of the ball has been shocking all throughout the tourny and senior players need to stand up and admit they were poor. Lack of tactical awareness was evident to see, again throughout the tourny, the lack of closing down or tracking a man was non existant. The old 442 is not going to work anymore, get real. I am sick of seeing these supposed 'top players' backing off and defending too deep. The passing at times was embarassing, giving the ball awy when not even under pressure.
Gutted, but not surprised. |

Well. Ashley Young was rubbish tonight, wasn't even aware he was on the pitch in the first half. Ashley Cole played well but that was the worst penalty I've seen in a while. But I blame Rooney for us losing. He played a terrible game of football. After all the hype about him being our saviour and the greatest thing since the wheel, let's face it, he's not only a massive kent but massively overrated. He's not world class, he's a lazy shed. It's his fault we lost. If he'd just put in a small amount of effort then we could have done better. But he didn't, so we basically played with 10 men. You could blame Hodgson for not taking him off. But ultimately, Rooney is a kent.
He scored with his penalty when it mattered - though I agree he pretty much played crap.
Milner/Young/Welbeck were crap - pretty much like their last match. Carroll wasn't much better as a sub in the last two, either...
The Penalties now overshadow the fact that they held the Italians for 120mins. Credit where credits due as penalties are a game of luck for both sides - imho.
Is that all he's good for then? I suppose he gets plenty of practice though with A Young flinging himself about like a gunshot victim when he gets anywhere near the box for Man Utd.
He was good enough to get us into that match - Ukraine header?
I'm no great fan of his either but, he did score twice. He ain't walking away with a missed penalty... thats why we are out. Not because of Rooney not delivering.

Posted - 25/06/2012 : 12:00:06 Never thought I'd say this but Carroll looked a better player than Rooney last night, Rooney should have been subbed before extra time. And why didn't they pump the ball into the box from the free kick just before the final whistle? Either way I'm probably making excuses for us being found out big time........again. |

Last night they were back to normal, only half the team playing.
Let's move to team GB&NI they might have a chance then
Nah, it will be filled with even more $hit then. I don't mean that nastily it's just the brutal truth about the state of English/British football.

Yep can't complain abut that IMO, Italy much the better team, and Pirlo the classiest player on the pitch by a mile |

best chance we have had for some time and once again we were not up to the job
Nothing new, and only hope of progress is if change ever effects grass root football. I see my kids through junior football and the coaching is effectively what we see as a result of our national team.

I have to agree.
So why can't refs do the same in the domestic leagues? It beggars belief to think thatcome August, refereeing will be back to it's poor biased state again, after a great display of what they should be doing. |

Posted - 23/06/2012 : 21:02:59 Gotta be Spain. They're playing very nice footy tonight, and have done throughout the tournament.
On a slight tangent, I'm liking the way the refs have consistently been blowing half/full time on the dot for the amount of injury time allocated. No mucking about in favour of the whingiest manager. |

Germany always in with a shout, they are cold, clinical and only play as well as they need to get the win, I don't think we've seen the best yet
Spain 50/50 England, if they continue to show some passion, may be in with a shout, but way too early to tell yet.

Mate you know what i think about the country and one of the reasons is no one trust them. Not one of the partys are any good and for that reason This country is Fecked I just seen it coming before most did.
I don't think its about passion this time more about the younger players just playing football. We all see Young play for Man U as i seen him play for Villa if he get his form back then as he is fast with loads of skill |
