Additions to the range include a prototype new adjustable system for holding a drum and cymbals, cowbells etc on a single stand base, works very nicely. Also new holders for a 10" drum and a cowbell on the hihat stand.

2 set-ups here, to give an idea of what can be done using one of my Busker Cajon/Bass Drums as the heart of the kit, including two new "hybrid" drums, 10 x 5" and 13 x 7" either side of my 12 x 5" wood hoop snare. All 3 can be used as toms or snares to make the "extended" kit extremely versatile and a lot of fun. However, it now does NOT all fit in the Cajon!

Vellum heads by Eddie Ryan on all drums (except for Emperor on bass drum) for a warm sound at softer playing levels, but plenty of punch for louder stuff too. Two Matt Nolan Custom 15" rides on the right.

I have added 2 new photos of the prototype new holder system. This can fit drums from 10" to 15" and cymbals, cowbells etc as desired. Custom ones can be made to suit set-up preferences.

Cheers Squire! The holder for the small tom can also fit on the central cymbal stand (instead of the bongos), to give a more conventional "1 up 1 down" lay out, but at present I like it being to my lefte for tom, aux snare, and nice timbale affects. The "Four-on-One" holder works a treat, and significantly reduces the amount and weight of hardware.

That's what I want to hear about. I've just reconditioned some Gibraltar AX hardware (all aluminium) and they are very very light!

I'm just about to start work on something awesome. It's a take on the suitcase kit, but the suitcase will be a drum!

Yup, weight is a pain! Those old Prem stands are nowhere near as light as ali, but work well and are still very neat looking. Last year I made part of a kit for a duo of buskers in Hampshire. They already had a suitcase bass drum with their own holders and clamps for a couple of cymbals, then added a small hihat and snare/ stand from their regular kit, but these were a bit too loud and too bulky and heavy for the suitcase. I made them one of my rectangular Busker 4 Drum Units, snare and 3 toms, and that makes a great little 5 piece suitcase kit which also allows the singer/guitarist to play un-amplified even when the drummer gets reasonably lively.

The nice thing about this extended set-up of mine is that I can pick and choose what I want to use, and having jammed a fair bit with it, it certainly does produce a nice warm sound at low volume, but keeps up nicely towards the end when we go all brooke-bond-divi-apeshirt with the thrash and distortion!

Cheers Dave, but your work is anything BUT amateur, your wood hoops and shells are works of art!
I am currently trying to complete a recording of this kit, a solo and duet with..... ocarina! Sadly my Pro 40 interface does not like working with my Cubase and the bass drum mic is on the same stereo track as the kit mic and it sounds very disjointed. If I can get it right I will put it on Box, been getting advice on the Studio thread, but no luck yet!

Hope to be ordering 1 or 2 of your lovely shells sometime!
