| Been trying to find a pair for two years, Dug. And yes, Chris, Prem do make them, but have you seen the price?! |

| Yes, but two years of searching would suggest that it may be the only option. |

Problems with the new ones - possibly apart from the price - is that they look differently, much taller (which for me is a big problem especially on a small tom) and more angular - and have 6 holes.
In fact, I think you could just as well use any other diecast hoop.
Smart ting with Gretsch is that they come with 5 holes and are good.
NOT cheap, though.
Then again - I got so obsessed with finding a pair, I ended up buying some in the US - cost me around 100£ in all, with shipping, taxes and fees. The next week I bought a 10" Resonator in the UK in top condition for 40£....
A 10" Resonator might be the easiest way to get one.
Regards

That's what I was told -- same castings as the old ones.
And I made my 10" Prem tom as a six lug one, so need 10 x 6 lug cast hoops. |

Dunno, but my sketchy info has told me that 10" were only available for a very short period in 60's as a 5 x hole pre-int?? They cut them out of range about 64/65' I think so mine and Sparts look like pre-ints, to me?? Been wrong many times !! |

My 10" Resonator has 5 holes and is International, like the 2 I bought from the US:

This is the Gretsch, I mentioned - quite different, but at least with 5 holes. Made in China, too. By Gibraltar/Dixon, I understand.
The "Modern" Premiers I have seen, are not the latest offerings from the Premier Series Elite, and I must admit they look a lot like the old ones.

| That was me selling that on the bay! I have one on at the moment as well. funny enough these 2 were on a 70's gretsch 10" tom, I hunted one gretsch hoop off the bay and I've just ordered one from wembley drum centre, so I have this one spare if anyone is looking for one. |
