Zildjian must be chuffed, maybe they should take a listen at how mediocre their cymbals are these days!

I liked how he mentions Paiste Gongs, wonder if they told him they ordered gongs from Ufip back in the 50s probably to see how it was done

Resonators and Ufips....just beautiful. www.vintageolympic.co.uk

Rotocasting is definitely the pinnacle of cymbal manufacture!

I saw him at Hammersmith last month. His ride and crash had their logos missing so knew something was going on. He still had his Z Oriental china to his left.

I wonder how much the cheque was to lure him away? No doubt another Paiste price increase to pay for it!

It's just possible that he actually likes Paiste cymbals. Stranger things have happened.

Try using your ears

No seriously I tried some cymbals today, Paiste,Ufips,Zildjians,Stagg ....and the Zildjians sounded NAFF compared to the others.

I really like Paiste Signitures .....but I play too hard and end up cracking them even after only 2 gigs ...... Paiste Rudes are/where Great

If you don't like my outlook on life ...Then get one of your own

Seriously?
He could walk into any cymbal company in the world and take any cymbal he wanted as an endorsee. Is anyone really suggesting he can't find a single set of cymbals in the entire Zildjian factory he doesn't like? If he couldn't they'd make one for him.

That said, there are fundamental differences between Paiste and Zildjian sounds, but I find it difficult to imagine he hasn't noticed that yet.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

Seems strange to swap two big endorsement deals at the same time...

For example, Keith Carlock....

I'm old and cynical though.

The top players can move to any company of their choosing as the door is always wide open..

Sportsmen get paid handsomely for endorsing products so top musicians should be able to also...never sell yourself short.

There are a few I know that wished that they had done better deals back in the day?
