Has been shipped out today! I know there are mixed feeling out there about it, but I've always felt unsure and that I could be getting more from my drums with the right tuning. There's been some great reviews already but I'll definitely be putting up some feedback over the next few days.
Not gonna lie, I'm so excited I could siht a well tuned floor tom! |

It'll be great to read your feedback and find out what your experience of it is!
For me it's been a great tool. It has given me the chance to tune my drums in an accurate and objective way. It has also helped me to understand how tuning heads affects the sound and response of a drum. It has made me feel free to experiment with different intervals and tunings. Finally it has given the ability to repeat tunings precisely.
Have fun!

| Still having a play around with it atm, but one quick question, Rudi (or anyone else who has one). Does your display read the decimal point hz eg. 222.1? All the videos I have seen of it do, but mine doesnt for some reason. Just wondering if those were testers and its something they took out or there's somethin up with this one?! |

| Anything that helps can only be good but use it to perfect your tuning by ear. |

I have one of these... Really glad I bought it. It didn't work like I thought (like a guitar tuner) you really have to read the instructions, make sure you strike the drum exactly the same and hit the same distance from the edge.. also it only really works for me when you mute the opposite head and mute or move away from other drums...
But.. it really shocked me how the tiniest turn of a rod can affect the others... I can def tune better now without the device and can tune more consistently.. It's also Very useful in the studio when doing multiple takes or drop ins later on tracks.. I.e the drop of pitch over time playing can be "hidden" by re tuning to the same number..

Ok so I just got done tuning my 402 to one of the reccomended settings getting each lug perfect. And oh. my. siht. That drum has NEVER sounded so good. It's HUGE! At first I thought it had given the drum too much ring, but the second I started playing that ring dissapeared into a fuller, fatter and clearer sound. Biggest thing I noticed is that the ghost notes and accents seem to have a much better definition between them.
Anyway, first impression very good, can't wait to try on toms! You're dead right of cours yard. I will use this to hopefully train my ears into how to get a good sound and will hopefully one day not need it!
Geoff, does yours have the decimal place like I mentioned above? |

How much are these gizmos, where they from and are they really any different to a Drum Dial?
I use the Drum Dial to get the drum somewhere near, then use me lug'oles to get it more precise (if that makes sense). |

It's a bit on the expensive side is , I bought one of the drum tunas a few years ago and have had varying degrees of success. Handy for replacing heads and getting a similar tension but with fine tuning it wouldn't move even though you could hear through altering.

Yes, apparently they reviewed the firmware after the first shipment and changed the decimal display to only show .0 or 0.5. It was probably a bit of an overkill to go down to tenths of a Hz when tuning drums :)
Like yourself, I found that the tune-bot as well as helping me tuning my drums has also deepened my understanding of the whole process of tuning.
I too have found that my drums 'sing', but blend beautifully together. On the website there is a series of charts to let you choose how much resonance you want to achieve, from max down to low.
Good stuff.

Mine doesnt show anything at all. I mean it has no decimal place. Not like I'm thinking I'm missing out or anything - but I just want assurance there's not an issue with mine or anything... |

| Mine doesn't show the decimal place. I reckon that they ditched it on the production models as tuning to a fraction of a hz was taking fine tuning too far |

Hi guys, a clarification: the 0.0 / 0.5 decimal display only appears in "difference" mode. When using the default, the display only shows whole Hz without any decimal places. :)
