For the bass drum on a kit finished in a subtle black sparkle, would you go for
a) A black powder coated hoop with wrap inlay
or
b) A natural maple hoop with wrap inlay

| I think the Natural Maple hoop would clash with the finish Chris,, I'd go for the Satin finish all over, save the bal* ache/expense of fitting an inlay,, |

Red patent leather!
Oh Hoops
Not sure on either, but can't offer an alternative
The powder coated would scratch off and look shabby after a while whereas the natural would give nice definition but may be too much of a clash
Like a DW we used to get through which was Red sparkle with yellow hoops, twas called the Rhubarb & Custard kiy

I'm veering towards the black hoop for the reason lee haydn states.
I'd normally insist on wooden hoops but this is an electronic kit and for some reason, steel seems appropriate. |

I really like the look of a black kit with a contrasting hoop inlay (ideally with black hoops, [edit altho not a fan of powder coated hoops!])...

Altho, depending on how subtle the black sparkle is I dont know whether the natural hoops + silver inlay + black sparkle could look a little 'too much'?
Nice choice on the black sparkle, i'd be very interested to see pics of the finished kit!
