Agreed, Yard, a good double-act.
As an aside, so glad to see those cheating fecking badminton players havea all been chucked out the games. Badmintons's a great game (I've played it most of my life), and so bad to see it tainted like that, especially during the Olympics. Nice to see quick decidive action from the sporting bodies. |

| Working from home is a blessing in the sense that I get to watch everything, but a curse in the sense that I'm getting absolutely no work done! I think these two weeks might have to be my 'holiday'... |

However it seems a shame that teams are allowed to be put in a position where losing matches helps them gain a medal.
Seems to create a conflict - people want to see a competition on the day they watch, but at the same time teams want to win a medal, right.

Really enjoying the weightlifting and the judo so far. I haven't actually seen much else yet, to be honest.
I haven't even seen the opening ceremony yet. It's recorded and I'll get a look some time soon.

| It's brilliant, isn't it? Me and Sue got tickets for the Olympic Park and spent from 9.30am to 8.30pm in there on Wednesday. Forget the moaning before it started, the organisers have made an amazing job of the whole thing. The stadiums are terrific, the landscaping exceptional (the green areas and along the waterways are all wild flowers and meadow grass rather than formal gardens and look great), all facilities plentiful and clean, and catering better than expected. It got really busy late afternoon onwards (200k people, we heard) and the crowd control was perfect. Saw Wiggo win his medal on the big screen along with thousands of others and the atmosphere was unbelieveable. Transport to and from on the underground from Victoria was busy-ish without being crammed. A big success, I reckon -- and now we're winning medals as well. Can't be bad! |

Great day yesterday, enjoyed the match plus there was a group of Brzilian drummers belting out some great rhythms for the full 90 minutes lol. A few drinks after in town then back home to watch the rest of the athletics and the gold rush which followed. Great day, great night, one I'll remember for a long time. These games, specially last night will be remembered for years and years to come I reckon, a bit like how we look back at 1966 if you get what I mean. |

I went to the swimming yesterday evening. I didn't know I was going until about 11am, but my brother ended up having a spare ticket so I jumped on a train and met him there. I can only echo Bazarre's comments about the Park - facilities and food good, all staff friendly, and just generally a very impressive place. It is absolutely massive - I couldn't quite believe the scale. Transport was also very easy, though I suspect arriving mid-afternoon and leaving before the athletics had finished helped.
Just being there was great, and then to go to an event made it all the better (though of course I missed the events in the stadium, which was a bit of a shame!). I'm back in London next weekend and will probably try to see some of the men's marathon. |

I beg to differ with regards the football. I've just sat through the dullest game I've watched for many a year (GB v South Korea).
Jonathon Pearces' mumbling becoming inaudible at some points. Lorros' world weary, slightly negative, seen-it-all-before attitude adding to the grind.
I mean I'm not craving Murry Walker like frenzied screaming but it does make me wish for the old days of Brian Moore and Barry Davies.
Bob Harris would have made it sound more interesting. Not helped with a poor game and the inevitable penalty conclusion.
Giggs should have been on. Bellamy should have stayed on. Sturridge is over rated.
Tennis on Radio is surprisingly exciting with rapid descriptions of the shots and scenes. On TV it's back to boring Cricket pace. Don't dare speak in the rally. Let the applause slowly fade. "ooh there's Boris Becker, Cliff Richard, Lord Lucan, etc . delete as applicable.
Radio 5 is much better - wish I could sync sound and pictures. |

Baz, I reckon the best way into town now is to drive to Ebbsfleet and park, then go in on the High-Speed. It's quicker and cheaper if you don't want to be on the west side. |

Totally agree. She's been outstanding. 10/10 Hazel Irvine- always good, 9/10 Gabby Logan- great as well, 9/10 (professionally), 10/10 (crumpet rating ) Gary Lineker- average, 5/10 Jake Whasshisname (F1 dude)- good, 8/10 BBC overall- 10/10 |
