The Girl Who Became Three Boys.
Anyone else seen it? Recorded it yesterday and just watched it.
Now I am not condoning in any way what Gemma Barker did, but as the documentary went on, I found myself having less and less sympathy for the victims. At one point I was overwhelmed at the gullibility and sheer naïvety of the girls involved.
I found it said a lot about how strange and unusual behaviour, ('My boyfriend would sit next to me and text because he was shy' and 'I never saw his face, he always wore a hat') is now accepted by the younger generation as the norm and how things such as MSN and Facebook profiles are taken at face value.

My thoughts may not go down too well....but you're getting them anyway.
I felt sorry for Gemma Barker, while in no way condoning what she did. Her "victims" were dumber than a bag of rocks, to use an Americanism. Their stupidity, of course, does not entitle anyone else to take advantage of them, but their stupidity and naivety were incredible. I think Gemma was/is a lesbian who just had no idea how to deal with her feelings and was completely overwhelmed by what her body was telling her. I found myself having a lot more sympathy for her than for her victims.

| One of the victims' comments near the beginning of the programme to the effect that "it was all Mark Zuckerberg's fault for inventing facebook" was just staggering. I too felt more inclined to empathise with a young woman so conflicted in herself as to behave so bizarrely than for the so called victims. |

I found this the most asinine statement I'd heard in a long time; but the way she appears to be convinced of the fact beggars belief.

I could not get over how one of the girls ( the one that showed her face) seemed so dense... She was almost laughing at the wholething.... I thought it was a fake mockumentary, as i was laughing at a lot of it...but apparently it's a true tale! 'I was lying there with my boyfriend in bed at me Nan's and when i looked at him from the side...i couldn't believe he looked like the side profile of my friends boyfriend, so i asked him to leave!'
