First let me get one thing straight, I love England have always watched their games from being as young as I can remember. However after seeing the unbelievable efforts of the Olympians over the last few weeks, most of who have 9-5 jobs and regular lives I'm afraid I've had it with them. I haven't even got into the build up to the Premiership kickoff, these prima donas, most of whom are average at best, don't deserve my following anymore. I'll be glad if we/they win but I'm not going to watch another England match again until something changes in the heart of football.
I know it's not going to change until a few of the "big" clubs go under but until then I'm afraid this soldier is going to be watching other sports for the foreseeable future. |

I'll be following the Owls obviously but not England or the Premiership as much, they can swivel for all I care, I do need to pick my Sun Dream Team though |

| ... and judging by some of the comments of my 'friends' on FB you Sir are not alone.... I too would love to think that time will be served on the namby pamby, overpaid prima donnas soon. I'd like to think that one day we could watch a professional game without the acting, diving and blatant bad sportsmanship that is football today - however I fear I my not live long enough!! |

Coming from you Beez that is a pretty serious wake up call for the game.
I had my moment a number of years ago, I was an avid Man U fan from being a youngster but also went to every Bristol City home game to show local support. I had already started to get disillusioned with the game but the final straw was the first game of the season between MU and Arsenal with the missed Nistelroy penalty and seeing his and the Arsenal antics I immediately switched off the tv, rang Sky there and then and cancelled my sports package on the spot. When they asked why I ranted about what I had just seen and they must have thought I was a complete looney !
Had nowt to do with the game ever since and glad I did so as I found so much more time for much more fun and constructive things. From what I see it has continued to go downhill, including to seemingly support blatently cheating - unlike the Olympics e.g. the badminton players for being kicked out for trying to lose. Seb Co nailed it by saying "no one wants to watch that" and the same should be said for the bad tactics in football however nothing seems to be happening.
I hope football gets such a kick up the arse it straightens it's act out, but to be honest if it all goes under I won't miss it one bit. |

Did you see the crashes in the BMX races?
I was discussing this subject with my mate last night, he's been working at both the Newcastle and Sunderland training grounds a lot recently. His opinion of the players seeing them in the flesh is the majority are all total c0cks who only care about the wages going into their bank account and what watch/car they are going to buy next. It's horrible but it will take something like Chelsea Or Man City who have a kind of "false wealth" to go under for things to change, drastic wage capping, pay as you play contracts would be a good start. |

Agree. Don't forget to blame the likes of the commentators to. How many times have we heard 'Yes, there was contact, he was entitled to go down'
The sooner this 'cheating' ends, the better football will be |

Oh, and if anyone dares say it's 'gamesmanship', I will empty all of OriginalAnimal's used Aubergines over your head.

The selfless Olympians finally showed everyone about sheer dedication, desire and sportsmanship.
The Charity Shield clearly showed that the players learned not a thing from the past two weeks.
All players should get a pay cut to fund local sport and spend the afternoons giving their time to young kids.
It will never happen. |
Shut it and whack the poxy things!

Pretty well sums up my feelings too.
Throughout all of the Olympics I saw no sarcastic clapping of the audience, arguing with the ref or shouting at other teams mates for thier faults. Until I watched 20 mins of football.
Really showed up footballers for the overpaid jerks most of them are. Sooner we look at sport in general, and not just worship football the better.
Rugby, F1, Tennis, NFL, Tour de France just for starters, there's so much choice.
