I recently bought a kit with a bunch of Bosphorus cymbals, theres a rather unique ride cymbal, its a 19" Flat Ride New Orleans Series..
These are the rest: 15" paper thin crash - Traditional 15" thin crash - Master 16" thin crash - Traditional 18" paper thin crash - Traditional 10" splash - Traditional 12" hi hats - Traditional
Does anybody know how much these cymbals will go for in the UK? |

Hi Cygnus - nice haul! Quick search on Google shopping with the product names is your best bet...

I've done a little search for these cymbals and the flat ride is nowhere to be found.. Could it be that I've stumbled upon a rarity? |

AFAIK the New Orleans range is no longer in production. The 19" size was probably a custom order, and whilst the fact that there's not a lot of them out there does make it a technical 'rarity', in terms of value it won't really differ from that of any other Bos flat ride. |

Good Evening,
Similarly the 15 Masters was probably special order. Unfortunately they aren't going for much currently.

What would you guys say?
Should I hold on to any of them for a little while or put them up for sale somewhere? I could really use some Zildjians or Sabians, Maybe even some Paiste's.

I think your best bet would be to stick them on Ebay at a 99p start price, no reserve and offer international shipping.
Or, head down to your nearest drum store and see what they would give you as a trade against say a set of Sabian AA or AAX.

I like the idea of heading down to my local shop and seeing how much I can get for these unusual (For me) cymbals, I also heard that the 2002 Paiste's sound a little similar to A customs? Can anyone confirm this? |

^ Yes, give the cymbals a chance and don't be too quick to get rid of them just because you want one of "those three" brands. Also, it's unfair to say the a shop will screw you - they have to make a profit or else why should they bother at all? And they have to charge VAT at 20% when they sell sell them. |

yeah, your right there, screwed was a poor choice of word.
well I guess what I mean is if you play the secondhand game you can most likely sell each bossy and find a 'big 3' replacement. If you do it with a shop, you will go from having a nice selection of top end cymbals to a few big 3 ones, which quality wise are no better. the bossys are top end.
i'm all for supporting a local shop, but if OP doesn't know the true value of what he has... |

I recently picked up a set of bosphorus cymbals and was pleasantly surprised, some of them are kicking my zildjians into the ebay pile.
give them a chance and dare to have something different in your case |

| As much as I like the cymbals, I am quite a heavy handed player so the paper thin crashes wont do me any good, I'd like to keep them but I cant afford to keep them and buy a new set right now.. |

If you are on Facebook check out the page "buy and sell drums UK". It's very good.
