Who's doing what in May / June 2007
Who’s doing what May? Pete Locket: 2007 has got off to a very Indian flavor for Pete. In early January Pete went out to Kolkatta where he toured locally and recorded with famed Tabla player, Bikram Ghosh. There was also a TV special recorded for an international Indian station which featured Pete being interviewed by Tanmoy Bose. Pete then set sail for Chennai where he recorded with Rajesh Mandolin. After a brief break back in the UK for some sessions it was back to Chennai for a solo gig on the same bill as Indian legends Shuba Mudgal and Bombay Jayshree. Then there was a performance with U Shrinivas at the Dyhanalinga temple in front of 100,000 people. The show was also broadcast live on national TV. The trip was wound up with recording work on a ''big news'' Tamil film called ''SIVAJI'' with Superstar actor Rajini Kanth and music by AR Rahman. Then it was back to London to perform at Ronnie Scotts with Steve Smiths Vital Information. Pete is a featured guest on Steve’s new album.
Andy Edwards: Next week sees the release ''Broadcast'', a DVD I shot in Poland last year with Neo. Andy is currently filming a tuition DVD that will be released later this year and has recorded a CD for Martin Orford with shared drum duties with Nick D''Vigilio And is currently involved in writing the next IQ album which will be released later this year and will concede with some dates in the UK, Europe and Canada. Damon Wilson: Has bee touring with the Lighthouse Family, Matt Willis and is currently touring with The Waterboys until August. Has been recording with Muttiah from Sugarbabes mew solo album, Mat Willis and The Waterboys in the studio Velroy Bailey: Currently still touring with westlife until May then starts touring with M.People for the summer. Tim Weller: Has been on tour with The Divine Comedy, and their album, "Victory for the Comic Muse" won Ireland''s Choice Music Prize. The band will be out on the traditional summer festival circuit where Tim well be showing off his new green sparkle Tama kit. He has also been recording with Natalie Imbruglia for her new record and Chris Difford and will be doing a few gigs with Chris at the end of the month. When he is not doing that you can find Tim in the West End playing on the hit musical Billy Elliot. Chris Cano: Is in the studio with Orson recording the new album. Karl Brazil: had the pleasure of playing for Sir Elton John at this year Oscars bash in L.A and just finished recording in L.A James Blunts new album. Karl is also recording with Alison Moyet, Nayo, Nick Morrison, Jamie Scott and The Bodyrockers and can be seen playing live with Nayo /Jamie Scott and James Blunt later this year. Darrin Mooney: Is also booked fro Drum fest 2007 and his band Primal Scream are doing a few festivals this year in Europe and the v festivals in the UK. The band have just done a remix for the “ Cherisse Osei: Is currently touring with new pop sensation MIKA. Mika''s Album ''Life in Cartoon Motion'' has done exceptionally well going straight in at number one in the UK chart going platinum in the first week. The first single ''Grace Kelly'' was number one in the UK and Europe. She has just returned from the USA where they appeared on major American TV shows including Good Morning America, Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel. Jon Brookes: played at Manchester cancer with Paul Weller and did some studio work with “The Charlatans”, Jon was also invited to play at the Buddy Rich Concert and is now endorsed by Premier drums. Mark Richardson: Is working on Feeders 7th studio album. With no working title as yet Mark told us “it''s a definite return to our rockier roots. There''s no name producer, no big flash studio and there''s no release date. Matt Sime, an awesome guy and long time friend of the band and who has had a hand in every Feeder song to date is engineering us at his studio in Crouch End. Andrew Small: Is out playing with Kylie and in his time off can be seen with Massive Attack. Joe ‘JC’ Caddy: Is now endorsee for UFIP cymbals and TOCA as of Jan 2007 and is currently playing and recording with Captive State, Z-Star and MD for new USA artist Justin Figueroa.
Mat Helders: Is currently on tour in the USA promoting the new Artic Monkeys album.
Neil Cooper: Is touring with Therapy in Austria and Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine, Romania and finally Russia. All the dates are on there site - www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk Andy Newmark: Is presently on touring with Bryan Ferry promoting his new CD, Dylanesque, which are all Bob Dylan songs which Andy is playing on. Richard Brook: Own band “Headspace “will be supporting Ozzy Osborne on www.myspace.com/headspacetheband . Richard has just finished recording the new Go West album and this will be released with a live DVD in the summer. Has also been working with Gareth Gates on some shows and sessions with Toby Baker (Michael McDonald) and Ernie McKone (Galliano) and still finding time to teach at the LCCM. Tom Meadows: Is on Lucie Silvas'' new record-"The Same Side", out now, as well touring Europe with her and can be on the "Girls Aloud-Greatest Hits Live at Wembley" DVD. Tom has also been doing UK and European promo with Jamelia. Simon Hanson: Has been busy with The Men They Couldn’t Hang and will be playing the festivals over the summer. Just recorded some tracks with “The Boy Least Like To” for their new album and also with boy sensation “The Wire” Steve Barney: Is currently touring with the Sugarbabes. Gary Husband: Is playing some dates around London with The Janek Gwizdale project and is now playing Pearl drums. Ric Chandler: Is playing and recording with new Sony/BMG artist ''Calvin Harris.
